You will not have to pass the Icelandic language test if:

you are 65 years or older and have been domiciled in Iceland for at least 7 years

you have a medical certificate confirming that you are unable to undergo a language test

if you are attending primary school or are younger than primary school age

you have a certificate from an Icelandic school confirming a sufficient level in Icelandic
