16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence

The 16 Days of Activism awareness campaign is an international campaign that has been held for the last 22 years. It starts on the 25th of November, the International Day Against Violence Against Women, and ends on December 10th, the International Human Rights Day. These dates symbolically link violence against women and human rights, and emphasize that such violence is a human rights violation.

Iceland has been a part of the campaign since 2004. This year, the Human Rights Centre along with other organizations have organized events throughout the 16 days.

For more information on the campaign check out the campaign's webpage and facebook page.
